Types of Weed Dabs Available Out There

Posted by on

The Cannabis market is huge, and there are tons of products available in the market, including various ways to use it. Luckily, under the California state laws, Los Angeles permits the use of marijuana, both as a recreational and medicinal product. However, before heading to a dispensary and getting any product right off the shelf, it’s important to know what kind of weed dabs and concentrates are available in the market to make the right choice.

What are Weed Dabs?

Weed dabs or dabbing refers to the use of concentrated butane hash oil, simply called BHO. It is one of the most recent ways of ingesting cannabis products. It includes inhalation of highly concentrated tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is one of the two active compounds in cannabis, resulting in a feeling of intoxication.

BHO is known to have at least eighty to ninety percent of THC content. Besides its recreational use, BHO is also considered to be a useful product for all those who want to consume cannabis for its therapeutic effects. Due to the high concentration of THC, BHO can help in relieving muscle spasms and severe pains. It is also quite useful against anxiety and stress.

How are Weed Dabs Created?

There are different technologies and methods used in the cannabis industry to make cannabis products. Los Angeles solventless products are made using the most innovative methods. And when it comes to weed dabs, in particular, a method called hydrocarbon extraction is used.

Hydrocarbon extraction is a very popular technique that makes both essential oils and oil-based fragrances. The method is popular because it effectively extracts organic compounds from cannabis plants.

Butane Hash Oil is also made using this method. It involves a tube going through a cannabis plant that helps in extracting the required organic product. The vessel attached to the tube stores the butane or any other hydrocarbon product used to extract the product.

Some manufacturers may even mix two different types of hydrocarbons, such as butane and propane, to make the extraction process more refined. The hydrocarbon is pumped into the cannabis flowers, which in turn extract the cannabinoids required, like CBA, THC, and CBD.

The solvent is then extracted into a different vessel. The extract at this stage is not safe to use because of the presence of pesticides used on the plant. This is why the extract is further heated to remove the unwanted toxins at a specific temperature, so the pesticides, which are usually hydrocarbons, can evaporate.

Once all of the butane has evaporated, a golden substance is left behind. The consistency of this substance depends upon the temperature used for evaporation. This substance is then called BHO, which can be used.

Types of Weed Wax Extracts

Weed wax extracts and solventless concentrates in Los Angeles and other areas are usually classified based on the method of extraction, the consistency of the concentrate, and the plant used. Wax is usually one of the most popular and desired forms of marijuana amongst all THC concentrates in Los Angeles. However, other popular products, such as live rosin in Los Angeles and pre-rolls in Los Angeles, have gained popularity in recent years.

Nonetheless, weed wax extracts are considered to be one of the best forms of concentrates because of their THC content. Here are some of the common types of weed wax extracts:

  1. Trim Run Wax Concentrate

When cannabis concentrates are produced, some of the parts of plants, like leaves and stems, are not used. However, instead of discarding these parts, some manufacturers use them to make a lower quality concentrate. These are usually known as trim run concentrates because they are made from plant trimmings.

Although trim-run wax concentrates do not contain as many cannabinoids as available in other products, they are still very popular. One way to identify these concentrates is that they don’t have a lot of aromas.

  1. Shatter

Known for its consistency similar to that of glass, shatter reminds of caramel candy. Created using BHO, shatter is known for its extreme purity, although some variations do exist. Shatter can also be transparent and have low quantities of THC or CBD. However, it still contains high amounts of active substances in most of its variations.  Shatter cannot be smoked easily because it has a very high evaporation point. The butane torch might have to be heated up to a temperature of 600 F before it can be vaporized!

  1. Crumble

Crumble is made by purging oil in a vacuum. It is known for its soft consistency. Even though it has a soft consistency when compared to shatter, it is still very brittle to get crumbled. Since it is a little difficult to handle crumble, it is often used in vapes.

However, crumble is very flavorful and extremely potent. It also contains a very high amount of THC, as well as other cannabinoids, which makes it a popular choice in the market.

  1. Good Ole Weed Wax

Resembling honey in its look and concentration, good ole weed wax is one of the most popular dabs in the market. It contains a very high amount of THC, as well as other cannabinoids, which is why it needs to be handled in a very responsible and careful manner.  Proper tools are also required to handle this wax because it is very runny. And one common way to use it is a vaporizer or dab rig.  It is recommended to start slowly with this wax, especially for beginners who cannot vaporize something so potent.

Conclusion

There are many types of waxes available in the market that can be used for recreational purposes. But whatever the product is being used, it is important to consume and use cannabis products responsibly.
